Adrien Weibgen

Associate Director of Training

Adrien Lorenzo Weibgen is a movement strategist, policy advocate and capacity builder who has spent their career supporting directly impacted community members in the fight to achieve a world where everyone can thrive.

Prior to Movement Law Lab, Adrien was a founding staff member at Liberation in a Generation, a PolicyLink project building the power of people of color to transform the economy. Adrien led the organization’s work with grassroots partners, providing strategic support to over 100 movement groups nationwide. Previously, Adrien launched the Equitable Neighborhoods practice at the Urban Justice Center in New York City. They partnered with tenants, organizers and coalitions on campaigns to ensure that the people most impacted by systems of oppression had a say in the future of their neighborhoods. Adrien brought a deep analysis of structural racism to these efforts, informed by early experiences at the Racial Justice Program of the American Civil Liberties Union and Race Forward.

Adrien is the author of “The Right to be Rescued: Disability Justice in the Age of Disaster,” a piece rooted in their work leading relief efforts in Coney Island after Hurricane Sandy. More recently, they were part of the Changemakers Authors Cohort, a program that supports social justice practitioners writing paradigm-shifting books.

Adrien holds a JD from Yale Law School and a BA from Wesleyan University.
